Fay Brotherhood and Lee Burns
|
Fay Brotherhood & Lee Burns from Coalville/Barrow on Soar create an earthy, gutsy brand of pagan folk, ranging in subject matter from local history, to mythology and folk lore and the natural world, rooted strongly in the English folk tradition. Fay Brotherhood's distinctive voice, and emotive melodies are given a medieval, ethereal dimension by the fiddle and mandolin work of Lee Burns. Fay has been singing and songwriting for many years, but only started gigging in Sept 2010. However she has so far got many gigs under her belt including support slots with Katriona Gilmore & Jamie Roberts, Rory McLeod, Kristina Olsen and The Strawbs. In April Fay and Lee will be supporting Walsh & Pound. Having won its open mic competition last year, they will be playing this year’s Southwell folk festival and Moira Furnace Folk Festivals, as well as the Barefoot Festival, and Kirkby Fleetham Folk festival, which they also played last year.
